I examine birds, both dead and alive, to evaluate health status of individual or flock. I necropsy birds to look at gross pathology and diagnose diseases and to collect samples for bacteriology, virology and histopathology. I also collect blood for serology. I discuss managemental and disease problems with clients and give recommendations. Implementing NPIP regulation is part of my job. After 10 years of mixed animal practice, I was consulting for the United Nations for 3 years. On completion of my post graduate degrees, I worked for a Primary Breeder Company and a Broiler Company for a total of 7 years.. Since 1996 I have been with Georgia Poultry Improvement Association.
